Introducing our Apprentice Ryan!

Ryan, 24, started with us back in 2019. He is currently in Year 2 of his Electrical Installation Apprenticeship at West Lancs College. He has been lucky enough to gain experience in a variety of environments to include domestic, commercial and industrial settings. His experience ranges from swapping out light bulb and fittings to more complex jobs such as wiring circuits to machine installations in factories.

He is ticking off his industry qualifications too having recently completed his Level 2 Health & Safety in the workplace, IPAF (mobile elevated work platforms) and Asbestos Awareness. He's a great lad and is working really hard for the team!

Now, over to you Ryan!....

💡 How are you finding your apprenticeship?

Fantastic so far! Each day I've learned more and more, mainly as the job is so varied. It's helped me work towards making myself a success in this industry and also in my day to day life. I'm more organised and more motivated to get things done. Every day is different and I never get bored!

💡 What do you hope to do when you are qualified? Is there an area of work you have particularly enjoyed?

I would like to explore the field of renewable energy once I'm qualified, or perhaps working with electric vehicles. I enjoy working on the industrial side of things, the jobs are bigger and more interesting and challenging.

💡 Tell us a little about yourself, how do you wind down after a day of pulling cables in?

I like to walk my dog, Obie. He's a boisterous puppy who likes a lot of exercise! I love to cook and am always looking for new recipes to try out. I'm a self proclaimed film buff and love quizzes and history. I also can't wait to start going to gigs again!

We're proud to support apprenticeships. As an employer, its nice to see someone progress and gain industry knowledge and skills. Keep up the good work Ryan!
